Introducing Bluesky Feed for WordPress®

I’m excited to announce the release of my latest free plugin, Bluesky Feed for WordPress® 🚀

This is a free WordPress plugin designed to integrate your Bluesky feed into your WordPress® powered website.

Whether you’re showcasing your personal updates, engaging with your audience, or highlighting key Bluesky posts, this plugin makes it easy, customizable, and visually appealing.

Bluesky Feed for WordPress® - Grid display

Bluesky Feed for WordPress® lets you display your Bluesky feed in two simple ways: through widgets or shortcodes, and both are customizable to fit your site’s theme and style.

Here’s everything you need to know about the plugin, how to use it, and what’s coming next.

What Is Bluesky Feed for WordPress®?

Bluesky Feed for WordPress® allows you to:

  • Add your Bluesky feed directly to your website with minimal setup.
  • Use widgets and shortcodes to display your feed wherever you like.
  • Customize the feed’s look with Light, Dim, or Dark themes.
  • Control how many posts are shown, include pinned posts, and link back to the original posts on Bluesky.

With seamless integration and responsive design, this plugin is ideal for bloggers, creators, and anyone looking to connect their website with their Bluesky profile 🤘

Features

Here’s a closer look at what the plugin offers:

Widgets & Shortcodes

The plugin provides flexibility for how and where you display your feed:

  • Widgets: Add a Bluesky Feed Widget to any widgetized area of your site (e.g., sidebars, footers).
  • Shortcodes: Use [bluesky_feed] in posts or pages to embed your feed.

Shortcode Example:

[bluesky_feed display=”list”]

This is just the beginning! Here are a few features I’m considering for future updates:

  • Advanced Customization: More layout and styling options to give you even greater control.
  • Caching: Improved performance with caching to minimize API calls.
  • Analytics: Insights into feed engagement (e.g., clicks on Bluesky post links).

If you have suggestions for new features or run into any issues, I’d love to hear from you.

      Thank you 🙏

And yes, I’m working on an update that will include images from the feed, with an option to show/hide them depending on your specific needs. I don’t have an ETA for the release yet, but it’s the next feature to build when I jump back on this one.
